Nature Speaks Louder (if you choose to listen)
When I was five years old, I remember hopping off the bus and looking up and the sky. It was a beautiful day, the clouds were fluffy and bright, the sky was azure blue. I asked my eldest sister if my dad was up in the clouds since they say that is where heaven is located. She confirmed that he was in heaven. I trusted her implicitly so the next idea I had was of my father sitting on a cloud, tucked in its fluffy folds. I found no comfort in this and the reason why is because it seemed like a nice thought, but a boring way to spend eternity, floating around on a cloud. The gears in my mind started to turn and I made it a goal of mine to figure out a better scenario than one where my dad dies and goes to sit on a cloud forevermore.
I began this investigation that very day. In hindsight, I assume I was tapping into this inherent ability I seem to have to commune with the spirit realm, which means my father's spirit must have been with me that day on the school bus. The event that triggered the conversation with my sister in the first place is an entire school day of having to repeatedly explain to my classmates that my father died because once word got out that he did, I immediately became marked as something OTHER. A morbid fascination the students in this small town didn't know what to do with. Very few people made friends with the little girl with the dead father. So be it. I enjoyed my solitude just fine because it turns out, I not always as alone as someone might suspect. Maybe that's a creepy notion to consider for some folks, but for me, it only adds to the multitude of mysteries that comprise this world of ours. We live in a world that is quick to negate the powers of nature and spirit and we ignore the Earth in such hubris; nevertheless, the natural world speaks.
The truest definition of what we call Witch has learned to listen to the Earth. In listening and learning and becoming knowledgable about these things, a genuine Witch comes to know our Creator.
The video I am sharing is one that features a song by The Italian Witches Circle. I have slowed it down to examine the components of the song and to examine its effects. Within the context of The Accihte Music Project, I am curious about speed in relation to sound. It is a tableaux I created as a form of spell in which I sought to communicate ideas and dreams within dreams.
